Amazon’s Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) is a program that allows you to sell your products on various sales channels while still using Amazon’s awesome fulfillment services. You send your items to Amazon’s fulfillment centers, and when an order is placed through your website, Amazon picks, packs and ships the order directly to your customer.
So what’s the difference between MCF and Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA)? The biggest difference is where the order is placed. FBA orders are placed on Amazon while MCF orders are placed on your website or another third-party platform. Your existing inventory is used to fulfill orders from both Amazon and other sales channels.
What Are the Advantages of MCF?

How Much Are Amazon’s MCF Fees?

The way it works is that you’ll receive the customer’s payment for their order through your website. Then, once Amazon processes the MCF order for you, they’ll bill their fulfillment fees to your Amazon seller account.
Bonus: Amazon’s fees for MCF orders are lower than their fees for FBA orders because they don’t include the referral fee.
How Fast Does Amazon Ship MCF Orders?
Amazon typically takes one day to process MCF orders, with shipping taking on average five business days for Standard shipping and two business days for Expedited shipping.
In the US, Amazon also offers next-day Priority shipping.

How Are Returns Handled?
So the order is placed on your website while Amazon handles the shipping and fulfillment. So who handles customer returns?
The easiest way to handle a return is to open the order in Seller Central and create a return shipping label for the customer. They’ll ship the order back to Amazon, and Amazon will process it just like a regular FBA return. Non-damaged products will be placed back in your inventory, and you can have Amazon destroy or return damaged items to you.
You’ll process the refund or store credit through your website since that’s where payment for the order was made.
What if I Don’t Want to Sell on Amazon?
If you want to use Amazon’s fulfillment options for orders placed on your website but you don’t want to make your products available on Amazon, you can totally do that.
When you create the product listing on Amazon, simply set the selling date to a date far in the future. That way, Amazon will have your products in stock, but they won’t be available for sale yet on Amazon. So they can fulfill orders for products you’ve made available through other sales channels without making your products available to Amazon customers.
Just be sure to keep that selling date updated.
Amazon’s MCF program will make you thinner, richer and less full of bees! Not really. But it will make managing your inventory and order fulfillment way easier.
