Congratulations! You’ve saved yourself exactly 38 million hours* by installing ByteStand to import all your product listings from Amazon and keep everything in sync.
Once you enter your Amazon credentials into the app, it will automatically start pulling your products in.
How do I know it’s working?
You can tell it’s working because you’ll see a flashing cloud at the top right corner of the app. You’ll see this on both Shopify and BigCommerce.
Click on that to see how many products the app is pulling, the progress of the pull, and what your plan limit is.
If the progress seems stuck at 0% for the first few minutes, don’t worry. The app is just waiting on Amazon to generate your inventory report. Once Amazon does that, ByteStand will quickly start importing your products, which you’ll be able to see right there in the app.
ByteStand works kind of like an assembly line. It grabs all your product images, then your titles, then descriptions, etc. Your product listings aren’t complete until the pull is complete.
So what happens then?
You’ll see the little flashing cloud disappear and all of your products will be listed in the app. But they’re not in your store yet! There’s one more step to get them listed on your store – the “push”.
A push is similar to a pull. You’ll see the same flashing cloud icon and the same progress bar. But instead of pulling data from Amazon, the app is pushing data to your store.
How do you get the app to push your products?
It’s really simple. Just click “Push to Shopify” if your store is on Shopify. Or “Push to BigCommerce” if your store is on BigCommerce.
You’ll see a couple of different push types you can choose from. Here’s what the different types mean:
+ Push all products – Exactly what it sounds like. It pushes all the products in the app to your store. This is the most commonly used push type.
+ Update pushed – This just updates products that have already been pushed without pushing any new products. You won’t use this push type on your first push since nothing has been pushed yet. But if you add products to Amazon in the future that you don’t want listed in your store, you’ll select this push type then.
+ Push not pushed – This is the opposite of the “update pushed” type. It only pushes new products without updating any of your previously pushed products.
+ Push selected – If you only want to push certain products to your store, just check the boxes next to those products and then select this push type.
Once you select a push type, ByteStand will start working automatically. You’ll see the flashing cloud appear and you can watch the progress as it populates the products in your store.
How long does it take?
It depends on how many products you have. Obviously, the more products you have, the longer it will take. For most people, the entire process (pull and push) takes no more than a couple of hours.
That’s a couple of hours you can spend creating your buyer persona, lining up media coverage for your products, or installing our FBA Shipping app for Shopify users or BigCommerce users to automate order fulfillment on your store.
But you’re actually saving even more than just a couple of hours. If you tried to enter all of your products by hand, you’d likely die at your desk before you could finish. If not from old age, then definitely from boredom. And even if you survived all that, you then have to keep everything updated – inventory quantities, price changes, description changes, all the things!
ByteStand will do all of that for you. So give yourself a pat on the back for saving yourself many, many hours of frustration and misery.
