How do I manually mark an MCF order as Fulfilled in Shopify?

Reasons To Manually Mark A Shopify MCF Order As Fulfilled

The ByteStand MCF Shipping app is made to automatically send your Shopify orders to Amazon for MCF fulfillment. Which allows Amazon to pick, pack, and ship your FBA inventory to Shopify customers. Unfortunately, there are times when this process breaks down. Let’s look at some reasons why this might happen. And from time to time…why you may need to manually mark a MCF order as fulfilled in Shopify.

  • A order was sent to Amazon by ByteStand and rejected by Amazon, now what?
    • If your order has been sent to Amazon and rejected please first use the ByteStand Order page to research why Amazon rejected your order. Many times this is fixable by the store.
    • If the order was rejected due to ‘Amazon cannot fulfill’ this means that Amazon has rejected your order due to no ‘available’ inventory of a SKU in the order. You will have to manually ship this order or cancel it.
  • A order was sent to Amazon and Accepted but never shipped.
  • The order was never sent to Amazon.
  • The store would like to manually ship the order themselves.

Video & Written Guidance

Please watch this video guidance which shows you how to manually marked a Shopify order as Fulfilled with tracking information. This discusses:

  • How to change the In progress or Request Declined Shopify status of an order into Unfulfilled.
    • Shopify only allows manipulation of an order once it’s in an Unfulfilled status. Please watch the entire video before you start this process. As you must make all changes within 60 seconds of placing the order in an Unfulfilled status.
  • How to manually change the Fulfillment Location of the order away from the ByteStand location to a different store location. This is usually your 3PL or default store location.
    • If you do not know what Fulfillment Locations are set up in your store you can view them in Shopify > Settings > Locations.
    • Shopify considers ByteStand an ‘app location’ and Shopify does not allow manual manipulation for orders that are assigned to an app location.
    • This is why the store must move the order into an Unfulfilled status first and then change the orders fulfillment location away from ByteStand.
  • Why it’s important to make these changes quickly.
    • The ByteStand MCF Shipping app monitors your orders constantly and it looks for orders in the Unfulfilled status. When orders are placed organically or put in the Unfulfilled status manually the ByteStand clock starts ticking. Within 3 minutes ByteStand will find this order in your store and start sending it to Amazon for fulfillment if you have automatic fulfillment enabled.
    • ByteStand cannot see or manage orders which are in one of the below Shopify statuses:
      • Fulfilled
      • On Hold
      • Archived
    • Which is why it is important to quickly get the order in an Fulfilled status as soon as possible.
  • What to do when changing your orders fulfillment location, there is no other location to select!
    • This video shows you how to view your product(s) Inventory locations in Shopify. And how to manually add your default or 3PL fulfillment location to your product.
    • You do not need to actually ship from this location. It’s just a place holder so that you can change the orders Fulfillment Location away from Shopify…in order to gain more control over the order.
    • You do not need to ‘add an inventory quantity’ to this location for your product. Keep it at 0. And after you manipulate said order(s) you can always remove these extra inventory locations from your products afterwards.
  • Once the Fulfillment Location of the order is changed how to mark the order as Fulfilled in Shopify
  • How to add the tracking number immediately (if you already have it) or after the fact!
