Why can’t I ship world wide?

Why are International customers getting error messages at check out?

Keep in mind that when you sell your FBA products on another channel like Shopify you are no longer using the traditional FBA program with Amazon. When you sell your FBA products on another channel Amazon no longer collects a referral fee from your sells. So, you are now using the Multi Channel Fulfillment program or MCF. There is one main difference between these programs. With the MCF program Amazon will not ship your products outside of the country that the products are stored in.

For example, products that are stored in the US can only be shipped inside of the US. This is the same for Mexico, Canada, Australia, Japan, and the United Kingdom. The only location that is different is Europe. If you have products stored in either France, Spain, Italy, or Germany you actually are able to ship to the following locations.

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden

In order to offer International Shipping to International customers you would have to manually ship these orders. Which means creating manual shipping rates in Shopify. Go to Settings > Shipping & delivery > Manage Rates.

Your rates would look something like this.

You would also have to ensure that any products that you want to ship internationally have the Fulfillment Service set to Shopify. Not FBA Shipping. In most cases merchants go ahead and duplicate their product listings. They have 1 set of products for Domestic customers and 1 set of products for International customers. They then use an app called Lock Smith to ‘hide’ products from customers so that the customers do not see duplicated product listings.

Below is some information on LockSmith. We are also not owners/creators of Locksmith and thus we are not LockSmith experts. We do have multiple stores that utilize this app and are successful with it. https://apps.shopify.com/locksmith

Create a Lock – This is how you create a ‘lock’ It looks like you will have to duplicate your products and place them in 3 different collections. Then you can ‘lock’ the correct locations so only the correct customers (based off of their IP Address ) can see the items in their country.) https://docs.uselocksmith.com/article/233-an-introduction-to-locksmith

This tells you how to ‘lock based off of location’ – Try this article. https://docs.uselocksmith.com/article/192-restricting-by-location
