Do the SKUs between Amazon and Shopify need to match?

Simple answer, Yes!

Yes, the product SKUs in Amazon Seller Central are the ‘master’ SKUs. So, when you create your product listings in Shopify, the product SKUs must match the SKUs in Amazon Seller Central. This is how we make the connection between Amazon and Shopify and keep it with the products in your orders.

What if it’s impossible to change your SKUS on Shopify?

This is not ideal but we do have a work around.
